Creating a deep connection and lasting memories
A Cultural Journey Through Cape Country
About Cape Cultural Tours
Cape Cultural Tours create a deep connection and lasting memories through Aboriginal interpretive experiences along the spectacular capes and coastlines of the Margaret River Region.
Connect with the Boodja (country) of the Wadandi people through their eyes and learn about the Noongar seasons and the encircling relationships with the rivers, the seas, the animals, fish and plants.
Move along the breathtaking Cape to Cape track gathering a deeper appreciation of the ecology, how it relates to the surrounding oceans and headlands, and why the past is ever present to the land’s traditional custodians.
Time spent with Cape Cultural Tours is an education in food, seasonality, culture and the importance of a connection to country that so many of us have lost.
Our tours are journeys, introducing you to coastal forages, tastes of our traditional foods, the Dreaming stories of our country and the age-old connections that link us all.
Based at Cape Naturaliste, Margaret River, Western Australia, the indigenous-owned business is the sister company of award-winning Dunsborough business,Koomal Dreaming.
“You start caring for something when you are connected to it, when you understand it…”
– Josh Whiteland, owner.
CARING FOR COUNTRY
Respect for country is at the very heart of Wadandi culture. Josh is a strong advocate of sustainable tourism and is passionate
about preserving the pristine and fragile coastal environment of the south west. All of our tours are structured to be engaging, fully immersive experiences
while being completely respectful of country and culture.
Based in Dunsborough, ‘Koomal Dreaming’ provides an opportunity for visitors to experience Wadandi and Bibbulman country through the eyes of the traditional owners. Josh provides guests with the opportunity to taste bush tucker, learn bush medicine, experience traditional fire lighting, hear the sounds of the didgeridoo and stories of the Dreaming spirits that connect them to this traditional area. Josh takes visitors deep into Ngilgi Cave delivering a unique didgeridoo cave experience.
